The Shepherd Chemical Company was founded in 1916 with a single goal - to manufacture Specialty Chemicals and Chemical Catalysts that meet the needs of our customers in an ever-changing marketplace. For 90 years The Shepherd Chemical Company has focused on custom chemical solutions. Today we are a leading manufacturer of Inorganic Metal Salts and Organic Metal Chemicals to the global community.
Shepherd's products find their way into every facet of our lives, these chemical products enhance the way we all live. Our metal salts and metal salt solutions are used in a range of catalyst applications in the petrochemical industry. The uses for our products range from custom metal compounds to solutions used in the polyester value chain which provide clothing and packaging for consumers around the globe. Furthermore, our catalyst precursors are widely used in the manufacture of refinery catalysts which improve the efficiency and environmental performance of oil refineries.
Our Organic Metal products are used in radial tires to improve the safety and adhesion of the components within the tire. This class of compounds is also used as specialty catalysts for the fast growing polyurethane and polyester resin industries. Many of the products we use in our daily lives such as laminates in our kitchens and dashboards in our cars are made utilizing Shepherd's products.
